549315 2007-05-12 21:45:00 ZA's Program Control shows two columns: Access and Server. Which programs in the Server column should have the "Allow" green tick, which a red X and which left with the blue"?".

In particular:
Generic Host Process for Win32 Services
IP Configuration Utility
Zone Alarm Client and Updating Client

Wikipedia's ZA info is interesting:

549316 2007-05-12 23:21:00 Everything should be left at their default settings.

For Generic Host, the first 3 should be ticked the last 2 changed to a X.

If u want to pass grc.com's scan.

I havent got IP Config Utility in mine, so cant tell u what it should be on.

ZA Client 1st 4 ticked the last X

ZA Updating Client 1st 4 ticked last X

You don't need to wory about server. Unless something needs to be acting as one. Generic Host Process is the only Windows item that needs access. ZA Update does need to be allowed unless for some strange reason you feel it needs to be updated, which as its a firewall it doesn't.

I see that on my machine Skype has the server columns ticked, the only program that has apart from Generic Host Process. Is that bad?
