549014 2007-05-11 04:36:00 Hey Peeps :D

I am trying to burn a home video to DVD... only thing is no matter what program I use to burn it, the audio gets out of sync and is unwatchable... (original file is fine)

Now, I have fixed the audio sync issue by converting the original file into a .VOB using SUPER Encoder (video has no issues) and then selecting that as the video for burning. so I go to burn the .VOB to DVD using the various programs and the audio turns out great, now there is an issue with artifacts in the video... (there is none in the original or in the .VOB that I converted only on the DVD)

So now I am thinking of splitting the .VOB that I converted (the one with no issues) and copying the contents of the DVD disc onto another disc and insterting the good .VOB inplace of the existing .VOBs but I need to split the good .VOB into 2x 1GB files and another ~500MB file for it to work properly (in theory) anyone know of something free that will do what I want and split the .VOB into these sizes?

Or even anyother way I am happy to try

Thanks :)

And the hdd is formatted in NTFS right? I am trying/tried Nero, Ulead DVD Moviefactory 5 and Super DVD Creator (all have the same issues at the same stages...)

Recorded with video camera, transfered with USB and edited with Sony Vegas rendered as a DivX AVI file

Yes, NTFS

549017 2007-05-11 06:01:00 Have you tried either Adobe Premier or Premier Elements or would both of those be out of your price range? winmacguy (3367)
549018 2007-05-11 06:10:00 Yes, they would be... I am looking for a free way to do this, I should have mentioned that earlier... The_End_Of_Reality (334)
549019 2007-05-11 06:12:00 That'll be why its out of sync -> USB.

What option did u select in Nero to burn it?? Nerovision?

It mat not be the DVD option, since I think u have to pay for it.

I think you did. I was just checking anyhow since from what I have read, you only get a limited amount of features in FREE 3rd party video editing applications for PC. You have to pay for all the really good extras.

Then answer me this... why is it that the original file I took off the video camera has no issues? it is ONLY when it gets burnt to DVD straight from the original file... converting it to a .VOB with SUPER Encoder the audio is fine... strange...

Yes, it is Nero Vision 4 Yes, it is the DVD option, it is the full version of Nero.

Yeah... BUT there are free apps out there that are actually really good, SUPER Encoder for example, gets a lot of praise on here

Seriously though, thanks :)

I think I will try converting the original to another format and see if the DVD burning programs will take that without dropping the quality
