549858 2007-05-14 23:10:00 Hi,

I recently bought a Acer Aspire laptop, and am wondering if I will regret the purchase. I have now submitted two questions to NZ Acer technical support and have not received acknowledgement or response to either question. Also their on line info is very limited so couldn't find the info I needed on their site.

I was wondering what other peoples experience has been with regards to Acer technical support? - are other laptop suppliers just as bad?

I have since answered my own questions through other means:
1/ Would Acer supply replacement system discs if hidden partion becomes corrupt?
Answer = No
2/ How do I upgrade the Hard drive without losing the hidden partion?
Answer = Purchase larger drive and external disc tray together with Acronis true Image 10. Connect external drive to USB port and use Acronis TI 10 to copy existing drive info to new drive. Then swap drives.

Cheers
Hk

549859 2007-05-14 23:27:00 I found the easiest option was to simply ring their 0800 number. Their call centre is in Australia, so you have to ring within their business hours over there. somebody (208)

Rubbish.

Lady here had to send her PC to Christchurch for warranty repair.
It took weeks and when it came back they had bent a pin on the DVD, and not connected power to it either.
I billed them for it.

549861 2007-05-21 01:35:00 That is my last Acer purchase - still no response from Acer on three questions. The only good thing is I did get my cash back, but spent this on time finding solutions to my issues. hkeyzer (9827)
