As I understand it, he is having issues with an nVidia FX5700 256MB which in his OP he states to be "about two years old" this would be out of the warranty I would say...

But yes, do try it in another PC if possible... it could be that the mobo is in a bad mood with that GFX card :p (I have seen it happen )

549431 2007-05-13 11:35:00 my bad, I was confusing that with where he said the PC had been unused for 3 months...

yeah you're right it probably is out of warranty now, unless it's a good brand card like gigabyte or asus and then it might have a 3 year warranty on it.

549432 2007-05-13 12:00:00 Cheers guys - I'll try to find another PC to try it on. Either way, despite the card's age, I will be visiting PC Power (the store I bought it from) in Wairau Park to see what they can do for me.

Can't find any details on the Interweb on warranties for the card ("Eagle" seems to be the manufacturer - no website, which isn't too reassuring!) - but you never know your luck in the big city!!

549433 2007-05-13 12:09:00 Eagle... I had one of those... dodgy apparently, forget about a 3yr warranty then - you'll be lucky if it ever had a warranty to begin with Agent_24 (57)
