| 549856 | 2007-05-14 18:02:00 | hello im really need a graphics upgrade badly im had tryed to fit a agp geforce4 mx4000 x8 into my agp x4 slot hoping it will work but it wont i think its the memory coz that uses ddr while my pc uses sd ram so that was a set back but now i have found a geforce2 that claims to use sdr memory will that work plz reply i need a little help here it would be great :) |

| 549857 | 2007-05-14 20:45:00 | It doesnt matter if a videocard uses different ram from whats on a motherboard. BUT, it does matter, what the voltage is on the videocard (1.5 or 3.3),and what the AGP slot on the mobo supports. If the videocard is the wrong voltage for the AGP slot, then it wont work. Only way to find out is to plug the Gforce in. Altho if its an 8x card and the slot is only 4x, it'll only run at 4x not 8x. |
