| 549790 | 2007-05-14 11:58:00 | Downloaded Knoppix and Ubuntu on Sunday - both 715MB iso files. These are allegedly "CD" versions. How on earth do I burn a 715MB iso file to a 700MB CD? I am running XP SP2, with Alcohol 120% as my DVD burning software of choice. I also have a limited version of Sonic RecordNow! (version 7) that came preinstalled with the Tosh... I think my new PC has a full (and more recent) version of RecordNow!... I want the Knoppix version so I can "play" on my laptop without installing it and the Ubuntu version to install (and experiment with) on my old PC. Currently downloading the DVD version of Knoppix (4.03GB) but being a Woosh Wireless subscriber (I know, I know!! :) ) I have about 60 hours of downloading yet to complete. So if I can get the CD versions burned, that'll save quite a bit of time!! Cheers. |

| 549793 | 2007-05-14 19:35:00 | ... in addition to the above, most CD writing software allows for overburning, which allows you to burn extra data onto the CD. Therefore you can burn, say 720MB; easily onto a 700MB disc. Read more about overburn here (en.wikipedia.org) |
