549468 2007-05-13 09:20:00 Well ... it hasn't run properly since I've had it. So a new one is on the way for me (so wifey says ) meantime I need this one to work (computer).
System won't boot up..gets to blue progress bar to start windows then reboots itself.
win xp pro sp2
Cheers

549469 2007-05-13 09:39:00 Have you checked the PSU? winmacguy (3367)
549470 2007-05-13 09:49:00 No..but I can run it in safe mode jferg (3232)
549471 2007-05-13 09:54:00 Doesn't matter, a safe-mode boot up is less intensive on the PC cause it loads only the minimal...

Try running Memtest and Prime 95 and see if that crashes

549472 2007-05-13 09:59:00 I take it that they are on the net and not tucked away in the system? I'll go look
Cheers

549473 2007-05-13 10:03:00 Safe-mode boot was the only thing I could do when my old system's PSU was failing....

It could indeed be the PSU, as in my case, but try what TEoR suggested.

549474 2007-05-13 10:25:00 I'll give it a check tomorrow..also, have tried system restore without sucess jferg (3232)
549475 2007-05-13 10:29:00 You could even have a virus of sorts that is stopping a full boot... so run a virus scan in safe mode, also run Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy to find any nasties, and Hijackthis would be good and post the log here The_End_Of_Reality (334)
549476 2007-05-13 10:45:00 Check event viewer and see where its failing my pick is a device or driver issue. apsattv (7406)
