| 550543 | 2007-05-17 03:49:00 | Am in the process of making a CD with a Word Document for seniors - computer beginners. Is there a way to make it so that it automatically opens the document regardless of their individual PC settings? Many thanks |

I use this (http://www.longtion.com/) It does a good job, its shareware tho. With this program u can add sound/video, etc, and point the icon u create, to whatever program to open. There maybe free ones around tho. |

(I'd also put on a plain text version. ;) ). Enter "making an autorun CD" to the PressF1 "Search". hat will bring up FAQ #70, and a number of other threads which will give the procedure. Google might find more. | Graham L (2) | ||

| 550550 | 2007-05-18 03:06:00 | I would use Open Office then everyone could open it no matter what Os they had. There are a lot of seniors with Linux and Macs. Word is a VERY restrictive format and even on occasions one word doc will not open properly in another version. |
