550136 2007-05-15 23:44:00 My new two month old Windows XP computer (Gigabyte mother board) works fine except when I am using Microsoft Frontpage 2003. Then without any warning, approx once per hour, it will close all programs instantly and give a blue screen. The suppliers replaced the hard drive, but the problem is still there.

The message on the blue screen is:

Update BIOS

Disable BIOS memory caching or shadowing.

Stop OXC0000005, OXBF8E270C, OXA657F868, OX00000000

WIN32K.SYS ADDRESS BF8E270C BASE AT BF8000000

550137 2007-05-15 23:48:00 So, did u try and update the BIOS for the model of the mobo??

To see if it'd fix the crashing?

That Win32k.sys file maybe the prob. It could be corrupt or something.

The motherboard was so new I did not think it would be the problem, plus with my limited knowledge it would be time consuming if something went wrong. I am an author and rely on my computer all day.

However if nothing else works I will do that. In the meantime I will replace the Win32k.sys file.

550139 2007-05-16 00:19:00 Check for any updates thru Windowsupdate. And install them.

Thats if your PC isnt up to date.

Dont get drivers from the above site tho.

Is it only crashing with Frontpage?? Or anytime?

550141 2007-05-16 00:38:00 Have you tired reinstalling Frontpage?? or uninstall / reinstall Frontpage?? stu161204 (123)
550142 2007-05-16 04:05:00 uninstall / reinstall Frontpage??That's a good first idea. Remember to reboot after the uninstall.

Incidently... you're not using Frontpage for your writing are you? Word would be far better. And also, if you absolutely require an website authoring tool until you get Frontpage to work ok, then let us know as there's a few decent free ones available.
