Better not update the BIOS, u can kill the system if u screw it up, and no it wont speed things up. Try defragging the hdd or get more ram. It may fix bugs / or add options in the BIOS tho. Try selecting default settings in the BIOS and reconfigure the BIOS settings. And remember to save the BIOS settings, before u quit the BIOS. |

| 549969 | 2007-05-15 05:18:00 | Wont speed up the computer, but will fix any issues in the motherboard BIOS. What sort of PC is it ? An HP/Compaq/Dell or a custom one ? If its a recent HP/Compaq/Dell, then check their website for updates etc. If custom, then youll need to find the motherboard model and check with the motherboard manufacturer to see if theyve released any BIOS upgrades. Most decent motherboards now let you upgrade the BIOS from within Windows or have you make a floppy/CD with the new BIOS on it and boot from it. If you are not confident to do this yourself, I highly advise you get someone who has done it before to do it for you, as you can "kill" a PC to a degree when upgrading the BIOS (However, most BIOS have some form of backup/reset these days) |

No, it will not, it should fix that error though and any other issues found with the BIOS since the release of you current version |
