550082 2007-05-15 19:40:00 Hello all. I just bought a new XFX Geforce 7900GS Extreme and I am using a DVI to VGA Adapter. The problem is that the text is blurry in certain windows and programs but not all of them. I've installed the latest drivers.

I also noticed that one output is sharper than the other. Did I just get a bad card?

550086 2007-05-17 05:00:00 It is an LCD, and it's set to it's native resolution of 1280x1024. Toby1Kenobi (12271)
550087 2007-05-17 05:03:00 Can you try plugging it straight into DVI? mejobloggs (264)
550088 2007-05-17 05:07:00 Or if cleartype is on turn it off.

Or vice versa.

550089 2007-05-17 05:08:00 Oh, first though... Check cleartype

Right click on desktop > properties > Appearance > Effects > Untick 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts'

Tell us if that changed anything

550091 2007-05-19 02:03:00 Thanks for the advice so far and the compliment on my card.

Turning ClearType on and off didn't help much. Also the text has started to develop a flickering effect as well.

Using a DVI to HDMI cable on my projector seems to eliminate all of the problems. I guess it's just time to upgrade to a monitor with DVI.
