| 1415173 | 2016-01-29 09:22:00 | Hi Quick Question. I have a AMI R9 280X Graphics Card. I want to plug my TV in using HDMI and also my monitor on HDMI. Currently I want to play games or watch stuff on my PC while my other friend can watch stuff on the TV. My PC is quite capable of running two things at once . What can I do to make this possible? Is it possible to have two screens on 1x HDMI Port or does my monitor need to go DVI-D and the TV thru HDMi then use some special app to run dual screens? Thanks |

No special software needed just the right cables. If you have onboard video as well most systems let you use that as well so as not to load up one graphics card so much. Windows can do dual screens just fine, I have 2 monitors on this one right now and I often watch videos on one while gaming on the other. Only thing that would be tricky is if you can't see both screens at once. Also be aware not all games play nice with other apps, fallout 4 for example often crashes VLC on me and alt tabbing out of supreme commander sometimes closes the game. Normally though it works. One other tip if going back and forth between games and another screen, if the game has a setting for windowed mode it often works better for that. Some games even let you move the mouse pointer in and out of the game without alt tabbing or minmising anything. |

Install the drivers for it, CCC should give you the option for dual screen / whatever It's an AMD card isnt it? By dual screen what do you want to see? The same thing? Different screens? Yup I think extended in Nvidia's options let you use a mouse between screens |

I want to play some games while at the same time my friend can watch a movie on the other screen on the TV. BTW. If the TV is about 10m away from the PC can I use an HDMI extension cord? Will that work? |
