1408774 2015-09-22 23:34:00 Does Win 8.1 have an in-built application to remind of an appointment for a future date and time, or is there a small app I can download and install that anyone knows of?

Thanks

[edit] I see Calendar is built in, but to use it I have to sign in with a Microslop account. Bugger that!

1408775 2015-09-22 23:59:00 Outlook is great for this (has to be running)
Thunderbird has an addin for this (has to be running for the reminder to popup)

I had the same issue with Win7. Looked for basic free apps but just went with the Thunderbird Plugin

1408779 2015-09-23 05:47:00 Just make a microsoft account, so many benefits :thumbs:I have an account, but as for using it, bugger that; I hate being dictated to. I'll try Gary's suggestion of Google calendar, else I'll get my friend to write a bloody great memo on my forehead with a permanent marker!

Thanks folks.

1408780 2015-09-23 07:26:00 Google calender sends reminders to your email and or android phone so long as you have a Gmail account. Works great for me, I now use it more than the calendar in Office Outlook because it just works. gary67 (56)
1408781 2015-09-23 09:42:00 Not sure if this is the kind of thing you're after: Kalender http://www.ukrebs-software.de/
Pops up, and you can dismiss or snooze the reminder.
