| 1408762 | 2015-09-22 23:21:00 | So all this talk of ChCh council being in the financial crapper with rebuild costs & debt must be BS Its good to see that Welly & ChCh councils arent running at a loss & therefore have so much spare cash they can spend up $1/2Mill on 2 sculptures & $10M+++ on panda's . I heard that just the food bill for the pandas will be $100K per year Noting that they wont make money on the panda's, as they have been a major money pit/money loser for other bigger cities that LEASED them of the Chinese oh well, council spending doesnt seem to matter since its other peoples money just borrow some more & let the next generation pay it off I guess . |

| 1408764 | 2015-09-23 00:33:00 | Panda's live on vast quantities of Bamboo. The Bamboo would have to be imported by air - cost a fortune! If you are that keen to see a Panda go to China and see them. Maybe volunteers in Panda suits would be more economical :) |
