1408415	2015-09-15 22:54:00	Meanwhile we get the stupor-city... Which was actually a good idea, just badly implemented. And before the supercity, the various AK regional councils were every bit as bad & out of control as what we have know. The regional Ak councils would spend up on expensive white elephants(eg Albany stadium) and waste money all over the place . Just look at the huge debt that most of the regional Ak councils left behind, for others to have to pay off Plus we had the old central Ak council paying for projects, that would be used by ALL of Ak , yet the other Ak councils would refuse to contribute . So Central AK ratepayers would be lumped with the cost for something that all of Ak used. Plus we had the ARC (in effect a sort of super-city council) : rather than focus on core spending they would waste $1.7M on Bringing in David Beckham's soccer team (that only 16000 people went to see) . lets not forget what it used to be.....	1101 (13337)
