1415257 2016-02-02 03:23:00 When I run the "Dism" command, I get a message " Not recognized as the name of a cmdlet " I Ran the first Powershell command , as above , but only got 4 "greater than " arrows . Is that what I should be seeing ? Swampy (2426)
1415258 2016-02-02 04:03:00 try running the dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth in a CMD with Admin rights, try right clicking the start button see if it pops up to select.

If it doesn't, and Power Shell is damaged then there is some sort of corruptions.

I'd try the refresh option (save any data first), as if there are to many problems you may never get anywhere, trying to fix them.

Failing that -- Wipe the drive, start again from fresh.

Re what you should see in power shell is this or very similar:

Power Shell needs to run as Admin, like CMD. But it should do so when in safe mode, it will normally tell you if you dont have the rights

1415259 2016-02-02 04:45:00 Thanks' for your help and suggestions on how to fix. I have tried most of these, all that I can get access to and the problem still exists. I think I will re-load Win 8 and see how I get on. Swampy (2426)
