1414810 2016-02-06 05:29:00 What the message is saying ( in a nut shell) is something is stopping the upgrade. It could be some program you have installed, or even left overs from another antivirus. if you had some other antivirus installed, do a search for the removal tool for the AV. When antivirus ( and other software) uninstalls it usually leaves pieces behind, these pieces while may not seem active may still stop the upgrade.

What (if any) other Antivirus did you have ?

WT, you are a genius! Laptop came preloaded with norton which we removed asap, guess I'll run CCleaner & give it another shot.

guess its time to suck it up & take to tech!

EDIT: just realized it wasn't nortons, it was mcAfee that was preloaded antivirus - will try a removal tool & see what happens

1414814 2016-02-06 21:09:00 McAfee is worse than Nortons, actually seen McAfee reinstall its self even after normal removal.

Direct link to their removal tool us.mcafee.com Link is from their page, #2

Sweet

Wait till you get the bill :lol: Only kidding. :p

McAfee is the ultimate safety - wont let you go anywhere to get infected :D

One last suggestion, now that its installed, click on Start/ Settings - Go to Update & Security, manually run Windows updates, usually there's a few lurking in the background, these can be system updates or hardware (driver) updates, you may need to run updates manually a couple of times to get them all.
