| 1408171 | 2015-09-10 23:16:00 | If you buy the new Apple TV that will cost about $300 here how will you play your nice 4K video back to your nice new 4K TV?? The only reason that I bought an Apple TV a couple of years ago was it was the only way of streaming HD PPV movies. Now of course there is NetFlix and Google movies. Quickflix is no go as they only do SD.. | paulw (1826) | ||

So youre less likely to buy a complete turd. Cant say that with PC's or Android ph's . MS have little control over some of the lemons that Win is loaded onto. With Win based home pc's it seems like a race to the bottom, who can sell a PC the cheapest, dont worry about usability of underpowered hardware Brand name PC's (eg HP) supplied preloaded with demo AV that expires after 1 month, leaving the user with no AV (seen that , often) Lets not forget to critisize the state of the Android market, devices that can never be upgraded to newer Android (abandoned by manufacturer as soon as released), new devices sold with old versions of Android; some versions of android, still in general use, will NEVER get needed security patches . What a lot of plop! My Android get's an update anytime I choose. Its completely reliable, and the previous one I had when it developed a hardware fault, Samsung sent me a pre-paid bag, and returned within the week. That's service. And of course the iPhones have a terrible history of problems. They're crap. Full stop. |

None were updatable to newer Android version, Samsung simply abandoned them after release. |

I just wonder that they justify their prices. Obviously their fan base will support them plus a few others that will buy them. Mind you, my kids used to say that people would by horse turd hamburgers if the were marketed under the golden arches.:) Ken I agree Kenj. A lot of people despise Apple for various reasons. But at the end of the day you have to admit that they do what they do and they do it well. Ok, so they don't always come out with the absolute best products, but over all their products are good enough to match the hype and user experience for most people most of the time and over time, that "most of the time" has made them a LOT of $$$. |

No, your android gets an update until the manufacturer decides the hardware can not handle the update or they decide it isn't economical to provide an update. With some manufacturers inc Samsung, this time frame does not seem to be very long. How many Android phones get updates for 3-4 years? That seems to be about what Apple offer before a device becomes unsupported. The iPhone 4S was released in 2011 and is getting the latest update to iOS9 in a week or so. |

And let's face it smart tvs are **** buggy and laggy. This will be my forth appletv. Got rid of original as that was sHite. Jyst pass the old ones down to other tvs in the house | plod (107) | ||

Apple built up a really impressive marketing strategy. Everyone speaks about their products, everyone has a different opinion on it. Even person with a critical opinion is involved and sharing information about their company with friends. And yes, it is marketing basics - if you have "сrazy" fans' army, you can set a higher price for your product, and it will be sold anyway. I watched a presentation of new Apple products, but it didn't impressed me much. By the way, I don't use Apple. But I have many friends that are totally crazy about it and have bought all types of their products - Mac, two iPads, iWatch etc. |
