Brisco's often have sales, I got mine for about $200 less(from memory) , shows what the margins are :-)

You'll have to experiment a bit with coffee bean brands, just too many Brands & variety of bean, many are awefull.
I still buy coffee from the shops more than make my own, I tend not to coffee up at night (I like to sleep)

Quite right, as the sign say, there is no X in espresso.

1408092 2015-09-09 06:20:00 No.

If you drink it a lot, I'd say yes but occasionally?

My brother uses these:

Assorted types, not even just Robert Timms.
I don't do coffee at all, but bought some for visitors, they comment it's lovely.

1408094 2015-09-09 10:11:00 We have been thinking of buying a Breville Barista Express BES870 as recommended in Consumer?
Or would it better to keep buying flat whites when we go out probably 3 times a week for the 2 of us, I drink a lot of tea at home but enjoy a coffee after our evening meal which is usually from a plunger hate instant coffee.
So is it worth spending $700/800 or keep buying from cafe's ?
I love my Nespresso Machine. They ain't cheap but the coffee rocks and they have lots of flavours to choose from.

1408095 2015-09-09 13:16:00 Bought one about 2 years ago - it broke down after 2 months of use, sent it back and they replaced with a brand new one which lasted from just over a year, to be exact, 1 year + 3months, it started to give all sorts of problems, gave up and am now with instant coffee.

Bad luck follows some..........

1408096 2015-09-09 15:28:00 If you enjoy coffee at home then definitly spend the roubles on a decent machine. At home I just drink machona instant, but I love the home-made stuff at g/f's place. Hers is a Kambrook I think. Greg (193)
1408097 2015-09-09 22:19:00 Real lovers of real coffee simply wont drink instant. Id rather not have a coffee than drink that stuff. Same as I wont drink warm flat beer :)
People do get offended when I decline down their instant coffee brew (with a polite no thank you). Not sure why, its like Its a personal insult

The home machine will never be as good a $3000++ professional machine the shops use. Keep that in mind if spending mega bucks on a home grade machine. It simply
may not be worth the cost over a cheaper version.

For a consistantly good but not amazing coffee that is convenient I reckon a Nespresso is hard to beat. I use the Jeds captuals these days from the supermarket. I've just got an Inissia - currently $240 at NL, so not super expensive up front. Captuals work out to about 60-70c ea, or about $1ea for the Nespresso genuine ones.
