1414875 2016-01-21 00:59:00 Hi Team

Is there any way around the Google Widevine plugin for computers on XP?

I won't be on Win 7 until I get a new computer in a few months time, so in the meantime I am missing a lot of favourite programs.

The site opens OK and shows the available episodes, but won't play the video

Is it possible that the relevant feature in W7 can be added to XP as a work-around or an unofficial update?

Cheers

1414876 2016-01-21 05:17:00 You need the Palemoon browser (a Firefox variant) that accepts Widevine where the original Firefox doesn't. I had a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. gary67 (56)

1414878 2016-01-21 08:08:00 I've just installed the Widevine plugin in FF39, WXP, with no problems. Choice On Demand TV plays fine.

I used the plugin from dl.google.com

1414879 2016-01-23 05:09:00 I use Palemoon on W7 so have just tried Widevine - what a pain. You have install and RUN the browser as administrator which I don't usually do.

There's always another hurdle in life.

I used the plugin from dl.google.com

Tried it: First PF1 popped up a warning, then when I went ahead and allowed the download, it came up as corrupted.

Bugger (again)!

But, Gary67, I have installed it on FF in WXP, and it works. So, what do you reckon?
