| 1414499 | 2016-01-14 20:12:00 | My Win-7 ASUS laptop is still installing update 2 of 17 after more than 5-hours. I am told "do not power off..." etc. The computer has been kept up to date with updates until today. What should I do? Please. Any suggestions? P. |

On the Mrs computer it said installing 1 of 15, Came out the following morning and it was exactly the same. Theres a couple of things you can do, but to cut to the chase :) press and hold in the power button till it shuts down, then restart, hopefully it will start as normal or carry on installing OR turn to custard and you got a repair to do. If its a laptop make sure you are connected to the power, seen many times updates cause problems installing when only running on the battery. other wise have a read of windows-update-frozen.htm (pcsupport.about.com) You can scroll down to "How To Fix a Stuck Windows Update Installation" if you dont want to read all the causes. |
