1408374 2015-09-14 08:07:00 Re my thread pressf1.pcworld.co.nz and LL's comment, which has been closed... I forgot how long it's been since this happened! The drama still feels like it happened only a few weeks ago.

Sorry to hear that Greg, hope the rat turds get their come uppence one day soon!

Well the update is... the primary guilty bugger remains in custody until next month until he gets sentenced on 2nd October.

The Prosecutor tells me he was charged with seven different accounts, pled guilty to two, proven guilty on another three, and was convicted on five altogether. Mine and another were lost on account of lack of evidence, but the Prosecutor was unaware of the evidence I advised him of, eg an old cheque book found in his room.

Police were somewhat inadequate in presenting all the evidence, and got it somehow mixed up when they presented what they knew to the Prosecutor; eg the Prosecutor was advised by police they knew it was the accused because of the footprints outside my kitchen windows. Police messed up because the Forensics officer didn't take any impressions of footprints at my house, and nor could they because the area was riddled with uncut grass and weeds.

The damning evidence should have been the cheque book found in the accused bedroom, the recordings of various text messages between the accused and his cronies, and the fingerprints, as the Prosecutor agreed.

However, Prosecutor advised me the uckka is without doubt going to be sentenced to three years, probably serve two. :clap

The other known culprits include his brother, and several others are implicated in the various burglaries.

The Prosecutor was good enough to give me the culprits name... one Richard Terure. He resided at 103 Nuffield Avenue, Marewa, Napier.

Sadly though I notice a few dodgy looking fellows eyeing out my place lately from the culprits house - it wouldn't surprise me if they're his brother and other s***heads involved. I really need to move from this street! (to be honest, I'd love to catch these people in the act. If I was a bit younger I'd now want to become a security guard!) Sad I know :(

1408376 2015-09-14 20:30:00 Well. Neighbour in front was burgled by kids, in side window and took money.
No cops attended at all.

Then one middle of the day - and their house faces the road - some young guys kicked his front door in, took keys and pinched his 4x4 Holden.

He discovers this when he got home and goes down the road and drives around a bit, finds it. Neighbour down there and thought they looked dodgy and filmed them.

Cops only bothered when film was handed to them, and then only because they recognised the thieves.

I had occasion to ask one about that...she said they need a whole hand print - because they don't have a computerised database like you see on TV - it's sent to Wgtn and searched by hand...

Still doesn't explain why they never even attended the first one....doesn't surprise me though, getting them to do anything is a battle.

1408377 2015-09-14 23:24:00 The Police will probably ask: "Are you insured?"

If, yes, report to your insurer, if no, bad luck!

Possibly they know its a lost cause, often zero chance of catching/convicting the crims after the burg has happened.
Also, more crims than cops doesnt help things either.

1408379 2015-09-15 02:33:00 Also, the crims have the advantage of not being steered by quill drivers from Wellington. They are not quite as burdened with paperwork either. R2x1 (4628)

1408381 2015-09-16 11:36:00 Not the same Richard Terure who was done for P manufacturing in 2008? www.stuff.co.nz Nick G (16709)
1408382 2015-09-16 16:23:00 Not the same Richard Terure who was done for P manufacturing in 2008? www.stuff.co.nz kinda doubt it - this culprit seems to be a bit too young (although equally stupid) to have been there, done that. Greg (193)

LOL, yes.
But that's what she SAID. Or, I'll put it another way - that was the excuse.

Remember this is Henderson cops......and what have they been famous for lately in the news? Hmmmm.
