550739 2007-05-18 03:32:00 Just wondering if sombody might be able to give me a answer to this problem i am having , i have just upgraded my cordless phone to a decent one ( panasonic KX-TG182) great little phone , caller id works fine if plugged directly into phone socket but with dsl running there is just way to much noise (caller id works even with the bad noise) if i put the dsl and phone line through a filter (the one that came with the modem a d-link dsl 12mf-nz) i loose ability of caller id on my phone , could this be the type of filter i am using or is there some way around this. presso (10113)

It is actually a better filter, having more stages and more attenuation of ADSL frequencies than the Dynalink.

Here are some results of measurements on the two I made some time back, I'll quote at 550kHz for brevity:

D-Link 12MF 69dB
Dynalink MF001 40dB.

I use a D-Link as a "splitter" at the incoming phone line junction box.

550741 2007-05-18 04:14:00 Never mind i just resolved the problem :D , i am curious though why the d-link filter i had on before and the $13 dynalink one i just bought and threw on which now works perfectly would be different , are they both not just a filter. Anyway the d-link one is now sitting comfortably in the rubbish bin where it belongs:thumbs: presso (10113)
