550728 2007-05-17 22:37:00 Why those websites for passwords, cdkeys, hacks, etc. etc. are full of pop-ups and nasties? Are they not discouraging people from visiting their sites? What is their LOGIC behind this? Took the trouble and time to build a website but trying hard (very hard) to deter people from visiting it! bk T (215)
550729 2007-05-17 22:44:00 Most probably coz their main intention is to hack you, and install malware on your system. Speedy Gonzales (78)
550730 2007-05-17 22:44:00 Because they are a bunch of crooks!

They have no scruples cracking software, so why would they want to stop when there is a chance of getting your credit card details?

There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world, there is always a price to pay.

550732 2007-05-17 22:57:00 I think there are a lot of people out there who don't know a lot about computers or the web and think that pop ups are just part of the whole "web thing". These are also people who have a life outside of the web. Considering that Google reported that 1 in 10 sites on the web have malicious content in them and about 80% of people use IE on Windows, I would say that if your part of organised crime the odds are stacked in your favour to make money from controlling unwary PC users machines as botnets for sending SPAM. winmacguy (3367)

Well why stop at one crime?

Considering you can control a botnet of some 50,000 infect PCs with just a couple of machines that can be used to send out millions or hundreds of millions of infected emails scamming people for money. If only 1,000 people reply to your email asking for a $100 donation.... that is pretty easy money which doesn't include all of the people who "refresh" their bank passwords and details when asked to by bogus emails "from their bank".

550735 2007-05-18 04:37:00 Makes you wonder though where they find all the stoooopid people to scam .

If they aren't actually in a nut house or a sanitarium, then who is giving these retards a computer anyway . . . and who lets a mental case have a credit card?

Who would actually let people that dumb have a bank account?

Is it a part of rehab to have a checking account?

The idiot-well has to go dry eventually on people who are dumb enuff to actually think Mbagoddo Umkuumbu has ANY money at all that was just found by accident in his father's bank, let alone any that he wants to share with a "Dear friend" . . . . like you .
