you will find a series of suggestions some of which were written by me under my username on Xandros and PCLinuxOS forums of jimwilk.

I have installed Firefox 2.0.0.3 into Xandros 3.02 OCE, 4.1 OCE, 4.0 Home Premium Trial, and PCLinuxOS 0.93. The method is as I set out in the post mentioned by Nigel. I seem to remember that I also described how to make a menu item for Firefox and drag the icon down to the kicker bar (to the left of the taskbar). You will see that I first set up folder in /home/jim called firefox and it is there that I first copy the file from the PCWorld disk. Extraction of the tar.gz file is done into the same folder. Note that the menu item, if you follow that method will require the command line /home/user/firefox/firefox/firefox That is because the first ff points you to the folder; the second to a folder within that, created by the extraction process, and the third is the actual executable program itself.

By the way, I keep the bookmarks over in another partition just in case. But if you get a later version of Firefox and install it over the top of the previous one, it will preserve your bookmarks.

Hope you can follow this. Holler if you have further difficulties.

Jim
