| 550669 | 2007-05-17 22:56:00 | i havn't used DAP for a long time but it was alright when i did. flashget is ok, tho i had a problem with one version, proberly fixed by now. i use getright which is fairly good. only catch is some of the downloaders get falged as spyware due to displaying adverts or the share url service they provide (which isn't nasty and you can turn it off). |

| 550671 | 2007-05-18 10:20:00 | Switched to Linux (Mepis) from XP this year & one of the utilities I was really looking for was a good download manager. Under XP, I used Free Download Manager - and IMO it's really good. However, I've since found Downthemall - a plugin in for Firefox & new version is fantastic. Best part is that it integrates fully into FF as a plugin, and now supports multiple (simultaneous) downloads. Increased my speed under Mepis for a CD download (distro) from ave 50k to around 300k. Worth having a look under WinXP as well - if you are using FF. :2cents: |
