551116 2007-05-19 08:34:00 Ok, so all has been working fine for me in powerpoint for ages, however mum has run into an issue with a particular powerpoint presentation that she has made, no matter what we do, when you are in slide show mode you cannot advance to the next slide, no amount of clicking or button pressing will do anything, the only button that works is 'esc' which just exits out...

any ideas?

551118 2007-05-19 09:06:00 nope, both running powerpoint 2007. I managed to fix the issue by copy and pasting all the slides into a new presentation, however this still doesnt explain why the original presentation would not cycle... lagbort (5041)
551119 2007-05-19 09:25:00 It could be a corrupt file. Have you tried removing the offending part and doing a save as to see if that makes a difference? winmacguy (3367)
551120 2007-05-19 09:31:00 unfortunately I dont know what the corrupt part is.
as I say though, copying all of the slides over to a new presentation fixes the issue, im just not sure what setting mum changed in the original one.

551121 2007-05-19 09:53:00 Is it possible she had those slides set to "hidden" so they do not display during the slide show? Jen (38)

Nope, just checked that, all slides are not hidden.
Oh well I guess a mystery it shall remain

551123 2007-05-20 08:15:00 By a file corruption, you should not assume that anything was done by the user to cause it.

Just that the file had a minor corruption of a few binary sequences during a save operation that prevented the auto operation, hence it worked when copied into a new (uncorrupted) file.
