| 550917 | 2007-05-18 23:43:00 | hi there my computer does not support sata hard drive conectiors so i went out and bought a sata pci adapter hoping that it will work i have installed it correctly i beleive...and it was detecting it when i loaded windows now it is not for some reason... the computer detects it in the device manager...but i can not see it in the my computer folder? also i would rather run the sata hard drive as my main drive...but when i try installing window it says it can't detect a hard drive... so if anyone know anything about this topic it would really be apreciated |

| 550918 | 2007-05-18 23:51:00 | Did the PCI adapter come with drivers or something?? It sounds like u need the drivers, if u want to do a clean install of Windows. So, when u say u cant see it in my computer, it wasnt the main hdd?? If this is the case, if u have XP, go to control panel / computer management / disk management. Does the SATA appear here? And how big is the SATA and what version of Windows are we talking about? |

| 550920 | 2007-05-19 00:09:00 | Dont know if this will work, but this is what u usually do. You have to extract the SATA drivers to a floppy, then reboot, change the bootdisk to the XP cd, then put the XP cd in. When the XP install on the bottom of the screen says Press F6, put the floppy in and press F6. See if XP's setup detects the SATA then. |
