| 551959 | 2007-05-22 01:18:00 | Went to M$ and asked, nicely, for a copy of WMP10 for this older puter I'm resurrecting . I get the following message: This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows . For more information, view the information at the Microsoft web site . Howcome? It's another XP-Pro/SP-2 and all the updates and hotfixes . Any ideas? Has WMP10 been discontinued? Right now it has WMP9 and I don't care for that . I COULD dnld WMP11, but that's not gonna happen in my lifetime . |

Clearly something that MS has done under pressure from the Music Outfits. I did try some of the other programms, as sujested in a previous thread of mine. Did not get anywhere, probably so used to the MS format. I Did not have the confidence in my ability to set one up. PJ:annoyed: |

| 551966 | 2007-05-22 04:56:00 | I had 10 installed on my XP pro for quite a while - then thought Id try 11, but decided I liked 10 better (prefer drag and drop into burn list) Thats when I discovered this very same message "This version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible ...bla bla" funny thing - I was using the exact same installer that I had installed it with previously... now it says incompatible??? - I think its a smoke screen to remove the version 10. Im sure the same message will display with your installer link zqwerty M$ just dont want this version running anymore for some reason - prolly the drm thing |
