551905 2007-05-22 01:03:00 I bought Adobe Photoshop CS2 last year while I was a student and loaded it on my computer. I registered it too. In February this year my computer died and I had to replace it. I loaded Photoshop again, no problem, and again registered it when prompted. As is typical of my luck, that computer caused me no end of trouble and three months later was replaced with a new model. I again loaded Photoshop and registered it. But of course there was a slight compatability problem with Vista and it kept prompting me to register the product, which I did a few times until I realised something was wrong and found a way to fix it.

I've used Photoshop without any problems ever since - until today that is! I put in my memory card, opened Photoshop and was told there had been too many activations and unless I took the following steps I would not be able to use the product again. I rang the tollfree number to activate it and entered my serial number. No problem there, but when I try and enter the 28-digit activation number, I can only get to the second to last set of numbers before an automated voice cuts in and says I have not entered enough numbers! I have tried three times but the same thing happens. I even tried ringing the 09 number but got the same voice activated system and when the same thing happened again, it just told me to go to the website.

The website is no help, so I decided to email them. Problem is, they have my email address entered in the system, but I can't remember my password so I clicked on the link to have an email sent to me so I can choose a new password. I've just got that email (ages later!) but of course I will have to wait until they respond to my query.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you rectify it? The product has only been loaded on MY computer, it's just I've had three in the last year!

Impossible to do so as first computer died suddenly without warning and the guy who tried unsuccessfully to repair it then uninstalled all the software on the hard drive (that part did work, but there were numerous other problems) before putting it into the new computer as a second hard drive. It was really noisy so I got him to take it out again. With that new computer, it caused no end of trouble right from the start and I ended up getting a different model. He then did a full system recovery or whatever on the faulty machine to remove all my data and software.

What annoys me is that he obviously wasn't aware of this requirement and neither was I, so every time I have just loaded it on the new computer (three installs in all) and registered it again. Therefore option three (phone activation) is the only option open to me - and that ain't working! I tried the automated phone activation several times without success and I don't have a number to get through to anyone locally so I had to email them - and wait.

551908 2007-05-22 04:34:00 Even if the number you have contains spaces or hyphens to make it more "readable", some rotten software won't accept the spaces, etc, rather taking them as terminators. I'm suspicious that this might be the case here
... I can only get to the second to last set of numbers...Try "closing up" the number at that point.

Perhaps Adobe want you to buy another copy, at full price. :D

Phone activation means just that - you enter the digits in by phone - and as there are no hyphens on my phone, I am just entering the numbers! It worked fine for the serial number, which had fewer numbers, but no matter what I try with the activation number, it won't work .

Me buy a new copy, at full price, when I've only used it for a year and still don't know how it all works? Yeah, right!

551910 2007-05-22 13:31:00 well, there is always the fuzzy line of "pirating" a product you paid for.... i'm sure a keygen is legal if you own a licence, but then again after a few patches you may need a new keygen :( motorbyclist (188)
