551778 2007-05-21 12:04:00 Hi

I have two dvd writers. One is an external one

When I plug the dvd writer in.Windows Xp detects everything and says its ready to use.I inserted a blank dvd and a window popped up.I cancelled that and open Nero Express but the program only shows my internet dvd writer and doesn't allow me to choose my external dvd writer.I've also tried a different program called nti cd-dvd maker and that was the same.It only showed my internal dvd writer.

I tried plugging my dvd writer into another usb port but same things happen.

Why isn't my external dvd writer isn't showing up in any burning program?

i've tried restarting the computer also

Does it show up in My Computer?
What about if you downloaded CDBurnerXP from http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ ?

The internal dvd writer drive is letter D

The external one is drive E

Then there's L and J

It says DVD-RW (E),DVD-RW(D),CD-RW(L),CD-RW(J)

I believe the E drive is the external dvd writer. When I click on it it says to insert a disc into the drive but there's already a disk in the drive

Deepburner might be worth a look
