| 551535 | 2007-05-20 21:05:00 | I'm shortly going to the UK for 5wks and wish to hook up to a mobile broadband network with the laptop whilst there. Obviously I can't use the Sierra Wireless card I have in NZ - can anyone recommend a network/supplier to use over there without getting hooked into a 12mth contract ..? Thanks |

| 551536 | 2007-05-28 13:49:00 | not sure about equipment. for service go to http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/ on their homepage they have a special offer, 2 free pay as you go simcards. get them delivered to a uk address. mobile data costs £1 per day (you have to phone them to activate it. not for use as mobile modem access, though i used one a few months ago in my nokia n73 as a modem for my laptop and they weren't bothered. max 40mb per day, again i went well above this everyday for a few weeks and they said nothing. if they do cap your speed/max d/l mb just bin the card and put another in! re equipment, hookup a 3g bluetooth phone, either your own or while here get one from t mobile (under a hundred quid i'm sure) then sell it on ebay before you leave. good luck!;) |
