I have a Seagate 320GB SATA in a Nexstar 3 enclosure and that works well $200 a year ago... only problem is the enclosure's External SATA port doesn't work... as long as eSATA or USB (1 or the other) work I am happy (I ususally only use USB cause I take it out of the enclosure to plug into my PC)

I went for those 2 too. You get a 5 year warrenty on the harddrive that way, and the whole lot will cost a little over $200. I use eSATA, and it is very fast at transferring, almost as fast as my internal drive.
External harddrives cost slightly more, but only have a 1 year warrenty and mainly only come with USB, which is damn slow IMO.
