552861 2007-05-24 23:30:00 When I try to connect to a web page after starting the computer I get an error message on the ADSL router page as follows:

2071-A Gateway
Error
The Connection Monitor has detected a third party router connected to the 2Wire Gateway.

If I click on "resolve" I get the following message:
Router Behind Router Resolve Failed
We have detected a 3rd Party Router connected to this gateway with a static address.
Due to this we are unable to move the device to DMZPlus mode.
Please change the settings for your 3rd Party Router to DHCP mode.

When I click "disable" I get the Router webpage which shows that all connections are up, but I still cannot browse. After a while and doing Test and Refresh in the Broadband Link Diagnostics page I finally get the browser working.

Email is not affected at all and works regardless.

We never had this problem with our previous ISP.

We have a hardware gateway with details as follows:

Connection Type: Ethernet
IP Address: 192.168.1.253
IP Address Allocation: Static
IP Address Type: Private (NAT)
Hardware Address: 00:50:8b:04:b3:0d

LAN details are:

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Any advice about what's going on?

552862 2007-05-25 05:37:00 You LAN expects to find a gateway at 192.168.0.254 . Your "hardware gateway" has a static address of 192.168.1.253 . Do you see a problem with this? ;)

The router (on the ADSL modem?) complaining doesn't appear to like a static IP allocation on another router. Is that other router your "hardware gateway"?
