2007-05-23 07:03:00 | Just wondering what the faster residential internet in NZ is right now? I'd assume it's cable, but who with and how much is it? Just curious..

2007-05-23 07:32:00 | Thanks Stu, I was looking at the wrong one. One thing I can't seem to find is how fast is it actually? ATM on my current Xnet FS/FS adsl plan I usually get 5mbps down and 500kbps up (within NZ) Obviously if I moved to PDQ I'd want FS/FS and around 10gb (Although I don't like how you pay for 10gb, rather than paying for what you use) So could someone give me a speed indication of PDQ (I know it varies) and hopefully not a speed they tell me (ADSL tells me I'd get 7mpbs down, but never do) Does anyone actually have PDQ? Thanks.

ATM on my current Xnet FS/FS adsl plan I usually get 5mbps down and 500kbps up (within NZ) That’s dam good!!, better then my crappy 100 to 300 KB/s download speed & 128k upload (Do you get that speed when you download anything? Or do you only get half that? Like 300 KB/s?) imo if you are getting 5mbps - 500 KB/s, then I would say where you are as there could be a chance that your speeds could get worse if you move to TelstraClear ADSL my :2cents: |

2007-05-23 07:47:00 | When my daughter and I both downloaded Open Office at the same time, mine download on broadband was only half way through, when her cable download was finished. | supergran (108) | |
2007-05-23 08:01:00 | Stu, I never get those speeds when downloading anything, usually 100-300kpbs. Here's a speed test result I just did (And I somehow added an extra 200kpbs on the upload speed I told you, turns out it's actually around 300) www.speedtest.net

2007-05-23 08:39:00 | Well if I were you, I would be VERY happy with that... some of us more unlucky ones are on VERY slow speeds, this (www.speedtest.net) is the best result I have had in weeks... (Go Large) | The_End_Of_Reality (334) | |
