2007-05-22 23:28:00 | Hi, Often, when I print out something like a recipe off the web, the printer prints it in cells. Why is this, and is there any way to disable this function as it only uses some of the page, usually down one side? I have a Canon Pixmaa 5000. thanks black | black (4099) | |

2007-05-23 08:15:00 | Hi, I believe I know what your asking. Some web pages have navigation bars which get printed instead of the desired text or part of the text is obscured. Any decent web developer will have designed the page to have a print link on the page itself in these circumstances and you use this instead of the print button in your browser. This linked print is designed to properly print that page versus the browsers interpretation of whats displayed. Alternatively, you may have to copy text and paste into Word or some other text editor to print. hth

2007-05-23 09:47:00 | Thanks Parry, That's what I do, but it's a bit longwinded. I'll look for the print link next time. What I meant,Rob99, was that when I print sometimes the content is surrounded by a square of lines, usually using a lot of space lengthwise, but leaving half of one side blank. Thanks anyway, black | black (4099) | |
2007-05-23 14:26:00 | Web pages are coded to display, not always to print. The page will usually print if you select landscape mode without cutting the RH side off. The "squares" are the frames in the code. As above, if the site is designed properly it will work, or if designed to be printed will have a "printer friendly" button to select the format needed.

2007-05-25 04:11:00 | ... if the site is designed properly it will work, ... That applies to all sorts of things. Wouldn't it be nice if the world was like that? | Graham L (2) | |
