552082 2007-05-22 14:59:00 I know some people have problems with this service, but I noticed something about mine that I hadn't found any answers to on here...

Is it normal to have 6 svchost.exe's running, each using different memory ammounts.

All are in the system32 folder, 5 of them use 4-7mb of memory and the other uses 45mb

Thanks.

552084 2007-05-22 20:28:00 Same here, I got 6 svchost.exe running on mine.

Is it normal for one of the svchost.exe to use up a huge amount of memory???
Saw it on a friends laptop.. it was using around 80MB of its RAM!

552085 2007-05-22 21:19:00 Sometimes that can be the Windows Update Bug . . . .

That thread desribes how to fix that issue, do you know if the svchost in question was also using 90%+ of the cpu?
