552037 2007-05-22 08:22:00 Hello to all of u. I have a Compaq Presario V3000 Laptop. recently I have formatted it Using DM 9.0 . Now when i tried to install I am receiving message "No hard disk drives detected Setup can't continue". I do not know why i am receiving such messages Although I have bought it recently (3 month )

I have googled around the net for solution . Some say that XP doesn't detect SATA hard Drive. I have to install driver for that , then I will be able to install XP. If it is right then Please tell me where I get SATA Drivers. and how to use it. Plz help me

552038 2007-05-22 08:40:00 You formatted a Laptop using DM 9.0? What is that if you please? Is DM 9.0 an operating system?

Sheese. I just might use Godfathers' route.

Assuming you have bought this Laptop 3 months ago was it new when you bought it?

Have you asked the supplier?

Sorry I can not help without more information.

Why did you? If you wanted to wipe the drive and start again why didn't you just use its Recovery CDs/Partition?

Best you re-do it with the recovery CDs, if you haven't got one ring Compaq and quoting the model number of your laptop, ask them for a new set.

552040 2007-05-22 11:10:00 If the laptop is anything like my V5000, it has a SATA hard drive that XP won't recognize.
Also, if it's similar to mine, there will be an option in the bios to enable/disable native SATA support. If you disable this, XP setup should be able to recognize the hard disk.
You should be able to re enable it after XP is set up.
Good luck.
