However, providing you look at things carefully, and ask lots of questions, you should get a reasonable card. I bought a Ti4200 off Trademe last year, other than replace the noisy cooling fan, its run like a dream :D |

| 552416 | 2007-05-25 08:18:00 | Ok it's down to these 2 gecube radeon 9600 pro 256mb (www.einfo.co.nz) Nvidia GeForce 6200 128MB (www.pp.co.nz) they seem virtually the same |

| 552417 | 2007-05-25 11:03:00 | No, it is not really odd... it is a simple example of the economics of the world... according to Pricespy (www.pricespy.co.nz) there is only 4 Radeon 9250 256MB cards in NZ and there is 50 of the 9550 256MB cards, it is all supply and demand... and seeing as there is less of the 9250s that are able to be supplied, they increase the price to encourage people to buy other things such as the cheaper and faster 9550 which is more readily available for supply :nerd: :2cents: it is also driven buy profit: there is only 4 of something available, in the event that someone needs that peice of obsolete hardware, do you A: sell it cheap quickly, or B: sell it at a ridiculous price seeing as the consumer has no choice (same story for old ram) |

| 552419 | 2007-05-26 13:06:00 | i'd get the nvidia card ati's catalyst BS is crap compared to nvidia's interface it drove me nuts last time i used an ati card how much worse the software was in every conceivable aspect. (i returned the card and paid the restocking fee, went for the nvidia equivalent, but there was other factors in that decision too) |
