Hi gum digger I also have ane Epson (all in one printer, scanner ,copier) model CX4700.The manual states "for draft copies, black and coloured ink are mixed,even for black-and-white copies". From what I have seen using mine if it is set to Draft you will use more of the coloured inks than if it's set to normal or B&W. That's one reason I'm looking for an el-cheapo B&W printer as I print off a fair amount of documents. And yes- as stated by the other posters I believe you have to have all cartridges installed and at least have some level of ink in them before it will print in B&W or at all. Regards Gordon. |

I believe Stationery Warehouse have a couple of types of printer for about $49 & $89. I was tempted till I saw that althouhg it was a colour printer, you could only have one cartridsge in at a time. Black or the triple RYB one.. Would this do what you want?? PJ |
