2007-05-27 09:08:00 | I've had AverTV software and the tuner card that came with it. It never works on XP Pro SP2 (crashes after displaying splash screen). Does not record using schedule reliably on SP1 - It took me 5 times to get it to start recording. Also when I display options - video on SP1 the program crashes. Any one have any other software that works. Prefereably without replacing the card. | JaceKiwi (2561) | |

2007-05-27 13:57:00 | Basically your best bet: Switch to some alternative software that works well with your OS. Many of the el-cheapo cards seem to bundle software thats never updated and hardly worked in the first place. I had the same issue when I had a TV-tuner card from DSE ($67 about two years back).

2007-05-27 20:56:00 | I had the same prob with the tuner in this . I think its because its 1/2 zapped . (I think it was from a few yrs ago, the power here zapped my old CPU) . Leadtek's own software wouldn't work . Because, its install file, said it wasnt compat with WMP 11 . But, Leadtek (the company) thought otherwise . They tested it with the same version of the program, I had, and it worked . But no matter how hard I tried to install the software, it didn't work . So, in the end, I tried WinDVR, it worked but wouldnt save the settings properly . So, I installed Powercinema . And have used Powercinema since .

2007-05-28 07:47:00 | I've checked in control panel - I can only find the hot fix. Also if it wasn't installed why would the hot fix install. Althiugh this is diferent, If I try and install hotfixes (Automatic updates) for Media Player 7 or 8 it says to install media player ... (i think 10). | JaceKiwi (2561) | |
2007-05-28 07:52:00 | Go to start/run, type dxdiag. What version does it say here under system? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2007-05-28 08:05:00 | It reports DirectX 9.0 (4.09.0000.0900) Under DirectX Files: Some are 5... some are 6...
