553240 2007-05-26 05:09:00 I have windows media player installed on my computer, and use it to open a lot of emails with wmv. ext. It will open the first one and unless I log of and log on again will not open anymore, and have to log off and on to open each one. Any suggestions.
I run Windows XP and Nortons antivirus.

553241 2007-05-26 05:11:00 Which version of WMP do you have? I suspect it might be WMP 11..if so, you might be having trouble with it. SurferJoe46 (51)
553242 2007-05-26 05:18:00 Well I wouldnt try and run them if theyre email attachments.

I would download and scan them first.

I think WMP11 has a lot more DRM limitations than any of the other versions.

553245 2007-05-26 06:09:00 I think WMP11 is your problem...but...unfortunately, now you are stuck with it and cannot go back to WMP10 SurferJoe46 (51)

Well u can roll back to WMP 10 actually, I've done it before.

Just uninstall the WMP 11 stuff in Add/remove programs, it'll roll back to WMP 10.

I spose it depends on where these WMV files are from. I doubt DRM is the prob.

553247 2007-05-26 06:17:00 Or go to a site that has previous versions of software and just get WMP10. beeswax34 (63)
553248 2007-05-26 06:19:00 Thanks a lot, SuferJoe46. Surely there are other media players out there. Ango (10308)
553249 2007-05-26 06:20:00 I don't think u can install WMP 10 while WMP 11 is installed.

You have to uninstall WMP 11 to roll back to WMP 10.
