553324 2007-05-27 14:02:00 You'll need to subject the file to a brute-force password cracker.

There is software, Google 'Brute Force password decrypt' or something to that effect.

Problem is once you get past about 3 character passwords you could be waiting 6 months for the correct password to be determined. That's of course if you leave your 'puter on 24/7 (hope it's not in your bedroom as they're awful noisy sometimes) and devote all of the processor power.

But wait there's more....it could take even longer is symbols as well as the alphabet and numbers are in the password.

I would charge $20.00 just thinking about it, let alone doing anything.

It's been revealed that it's just five numbers. That means only 100,000 combinations if I'm not mistaken. Minutes at most.

553325 2007-05-27 15:21:00 He told me the password is only 5 numbers...That information halved the bet though, so now if I get it, I only get $10.

Will try and look for a brute cracker thingy.

It is now a bet again?

553326 2007-05-27 20:38:00 Well I gave up.

I spent hours looking for a brute password cracker, all the trail ones only do up to 3 characters, and the rest either don't work or you need to pay for them.

He gave me the password, something like 18391, and the text document read "Are you l33t?"

Oh well, maybe next time.

553330 2007-05-28 03:33:00 pretty obvious that someone going to "try and look for a brute cracker thingy" isnt going to get far at all trying to use one! LOL bevy121 (117)
553331 2007-05-28 04:46:00 Well I spent ages on google, most of the ones I found you had to pay to use or didn't work (or at least I couldnt get them to work properly)

Oh well.
