553669 2007-05-27 22:03:00 HI:
I downloaded recently some updates for Office 2003, but just can't install them via Automatic Updates. Every time I try to install them it gives me this message:

"Updates were unable to be succesfully installed:
The following updates were not installed:
Security Update for Word 2003 (KB929057)
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB933666)
Update for PowerPoint 2003 (KB929060)
Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB932330)
Security Update for Office 2003 (KB929064)"

Now, I feel the computer is unstable, and every time I turn it off, there's a sign asking to install or continue turning off.

What can I do to finish the installation or to simply nos update?

Here are my PC specs:
Windows XP Professional Edition/Service Pack 2
Microsft Office Standard Edition 2003 for Students and Teachers
DirectX 9.0c
Intel D101GGCL FSB800 DDR400 Motherboard
Intel Pentium IV Dual-Core 945 3.4 GHz Processor
2 DDR 1024 GB 400MHz Bus (DDR3200) RAM
ATI Radeon X700SE PCI Ex

Thanks in advance for any help.

553670 2007-05-27 22:09:00 Click on the links, the Automatic update window gives u.

And download them manually.

See if they install properly.

553671 2007-05-27 22:33:00 Thanks, Speedy, I will try that, but in the mean time, how can I get rid of the "Updates are ready for your computer. Click here to install these updates" icon in the right down side corner? titolopez (10115)
553672 2007-05-27 22:44:00 Turn Automatic updates off (My computer on the desktop / right mouse / properties / Automatic updates tab).

Or once and if you manage to install them manually, it'll disappear anyway.

553673 2007-05-27 22:59:00 Thanks again, Speedy.
I dowloaded the files and tried to install them but, after downloading and clicking to install, there comes a warning sign that reads that it can't be installed.
I have Norton Antivurs 2004 version 10.0.0.109, but the virus protection from Windows XP firewall is not monitoring it. I mention this because when it starts trying to install, after the download, I see Norton analyses the file.
Can it be anything wrong with my firewall?
Should I just forget to install those updates?
titolopez (10115)
553674 2007-05-27 23:27:00 I would remove Nortons. Its most probably too old for XP to pick it up.

And use something like Avast Home (www.avast.com)

Or AVG Free (free.grisoft.com)

I wouldnt install the updates at all. They maybe security updates.

Get ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com)

Install it, run it click on run cleaner (close browsers), and then try and install those updates. See if they work then.

XP's firewall, wont be monitoring Nortons.

The name / version of the AV program, will appear in Security Center under Virus Protection.

Do other files install OK tho??

You could try getting hijackthis in my sig below.

Put it in its own folder, run it and click on scan and save a log. Post the log here, we'll see if there's something screwing something up.

And get Rogueremover, mnake sure its updated then click on scan. See if it finds anything nasty.

553675 2007-05-27 23:59:00 As soon as I post this message I will run CCleaner.

--->Do other files install OK tho??
Yes, I have not had problems installing anything.

It looks like this is part of MS Message Queue Server, whatever that is or does.

553677 2007-05-28 00:40:00 Well, Speedy, I did everything you told me and the problem still exists. I would like to just ignore it, but it will always show at the taskbar and at the Turn off feature of Windows, since I like to have Windows Update activated.

--->I dont know what this is doing in startup
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MsmqIntCert] regsvr32 /s mqrt.dll

--->Here's the information from Microsoft.
Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) technology enables applications running at different times to communicate across heterogeneous networks and systems that may be temporarily offline. MSMQ provides guaranteed message delivery, efficient routing, security, and priority-based messaging. It can be used to implement solutions for both asynchronous and synchronous messaging scenarios.
For information about other Windows Server technologies and services, see the complete list of Windows Server 2003 Technology Centers.
---Can I fix it or just leave it where it is?:

Sorry for the inconveniences and thank you very much for your help.
