Jen I will try the download from the web and let you know. Sorry I have been so long but I had a major crash yesterday and had to format the hard drive and re-install everything. Peter A |

| 554121 | 2007-05-31 02:41:00 | I have 2day talked to a small office manager who has a 100% linux office network and yr printer working. He said it required a linux Geek to do a lot of tweaking to get it to work. | kjaada (253) | ||
| 554122 | 2007-06-11 23:04:00 | I know this thread is a few weeks old, but I had the same prob with this printer (MFC-215C). I followed this (ubuntuforums.org) And there WAS a lot of tweaking / editing to do, before it decided to work.. And I had to change a few settings around, since there are no drivers from Brother for the MFC-215C (I had to tweak a few things so Ubuntu recognised it as a 210-C!) Following the site above, I managed to get the printer to print and the scanner to work ( In Kooka)! The only thing that doesnt work is the CUPS stuff (the web interface). Altho I've read that this is disabled in this version of Ubuntu (Dapper). I have to edit a few more files (again) to figure out what the PW is to get into it! One thing is, u have to MAKE SURE the printer is OFF. While installing the drivers you posted. Some (not all) of the steps on the site above, would most probably apply to you. |
