| 554162 | 2007-05-29 04:55:00 | Which would you choose if these were the only options: Microsoft Office 2003 OpenOffice 2.2 Other open source Office suite I want: a capable and easy to use Word Processor Spreadsheet that can preferrably handle matrices An email client (doen't have to be part of the suite, but if not Outlook, then need a replacement). I want it to look and feel similar to Microsoft Office so that I don't have to relearn. I want it to be a fully functional package that is easy to use. |

| 554163 | 2007-05-29 05:03:00 | Actually there is another free one made by Ashampoo. It was in this months Netguide. But you have to login on the Netguide site to download it. Altho this is Office 2005 which is free, (off the Netguide site). Office 2006 isnt free. Its a trial for 30 days, by the looks of it. Never used Openoffice well I'm not planning on getting it on dialup. |

I have two versions in this puter and use them interchangeably....don't know why, as one is as good as the other to me...just being silly..but I like them both a lot. So much easier to use than Office..and I had one of the easier ones on Office...2000. Just no comparison at all..and the price is good (free) too. Like all things M$..things just get more complicated-er and worse-er. I also even have Corel's WordPerfect, which I hardly every use and don't think I could use if I really wanted to either. |

Not imperative these days, but used it alot at uni for this and at that time Excel was the only spreadsheet that could. |
