| 554126 | 2007-05-29 04:40:00 | Yes, it is very possible, all you need is VLC and then you can stream it anywhere you want 1. Download VLC media player (www.videolan.org) it seems to be down ATM... 2. Instal VLC Media Player 3. Run VLC Media Player 4. File, Open Capture Device 5. Click Refresh Audio List beside the Aduio Device Name 6. Select the Audio Device 7. Tick Stream/Save 8. Go into Stream/Save Settings and tick HTTP (and locally if you want it to play on the host PC) Click OK and OK to the Oper Capture Device box 9. Goto another PC and type in the IP address of the host followed by the port (default is 1234) eg 192.168.1.5:1234 in WMP or even another instance of VLC Media Player and it will start playing the audio stream. EASY!! :D |

I see someone else has posted it but there is a tutorial here. www.engadget.com though the screenshots are a little out of date. also windows media encoder will do similar. I just streamed some divx movie to laptop in the lounge using VLC worked perfectly even over wifi :thumbs: |
