553989 2007-05-28 17:08:00 I pulled down the definition of an ASP from Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org

...but I wonder about a stream that I use. It is designated as an asp by the address and the "Type" in my WMP...so it is a little confusing to me.

ASP seems to be a test transfer or specialized in-house device that is really a high end transfer program...so how's it that I am listening to a Chicago radio stream over this sort of protocol?

Here's the URL player.warpradio.com

553990 2007-05-28 19:30:00 I understand ASP as meaning, Active Server Pages, when a browser requests a page from a server , the scripting lanuage on the server constructs the html and delivers it to the requesting agent, Your browser.

Very simplified I know but I think the concept is right.

ASP as far as I know is a database system by Microslop. Never used it so can't comment further except to guess that the html page you access is calling the stream from the ASP database - evidently serverside driven.
