555734 2007-06-04 03:04:00 What settings do you run it on and what GFX card?

Funny thing that, I had it set to full detail with a fair whack of AA and Anisotropoc filtering and it was running sweet, smooth as a warm knife through butter, then as I got more of the Island opened up she started to chug, to the point that I had to tone back the detail to medium and lower teh AA and AF.

Video card is an Asus 7900GS.

555735 2007-06-04 03:08:00 For windows the MUST HAVE list is very long even if you just want to do basic things and
stay safe.If you want to boot up next time and find everything the same as you left it (or repair what has mysteriously changed) then the list is much longer.
If you use Linux you can forget all the AV and adaware stuff and to get really basic all you would need is Open Office,Thunderbird,Firefox and Gimp. Then individual expectations after that will dictate.

Meh, None of my must haves are related to security, I only run an anti-virus every so often and shes always sweet.

The biggest security issue is the user, Linux works by turning away all the people don't believe they should have to work at an OS. (Mac works by marketing to analactic tards)

555736 2007-06-04 03:13:00 You PAY for your games!!?? :horrified

Funny thing about PC games, More game capable video cards are sold every month then all monthly console sales combined, yet they have hundreds of games released a month and we have 3 or 4.

Grated I believe the actions of the games industry has devalued their product massivly in the past few years but the PC crowd have proved without a doubt to be a market that isn't worth making product for.

So, a big round of appluase to everyone that pirates games,The back lash has happened. Me included, plenty of skeletons in my closet.

DeskPins allows you to keep any window on top of others with a few clicks. The `on top` window is marked with a colored pin that can be quickly removed by simply clicking on it, returning the window to its normal state. If you don't understand the need for this, think of copying a number of selected sentences from one document to the next: unless you configure a split screen, one document will keep disappearing. Most people will not need this every day but when it is needed it saves time and a hassle. Another freebie: www.snapfiles.com/get/deskpins.html

Get rid of those annoying adverts with this free web page filter.
Proxomitron is highly flexible, user-configurable, small but very powerful, local HTTP Web-filtering proxy. It allows you to get rid of many common annoyances as simple as clicking on one of the filtering rules included with the program. But best of all, the Proxomitron's rules aren't 'hard-coded' - you can look at them, modify them, or even write entirely new ones.

The majority of which don't have a whole lot of common sense or much knowledge of security matters.

Video card is an Asus 7900GS. Same as me, except I knocked down the res to 1024x768 on a 19" monitor :( as that was better looking over turning down the AA gets decent FPS now...

Simillar card to mine (Legend 7800GTX)
