556978 2007-06-07 10:47:00 I'm using IE7 with Vista Ultimate. When I use the page drop down menu the "send page by email" and "send link by email" actions are greyed out.
When I've looked through the help section all it does is tell me to cut and paste the link and email it which is ok for a link but not a page but it's a long winded way of doing it.
Is there something I've installed incorrectly or not doing properly?

556979 2007-06-07 11:38:00 Hi Tophook

Had this problem myself using XP Pro. After some soul searching, finally nutted it out. This is caused by the email program not being selected or associated with IE7. The fix is simple.

1. Goto TOOLS.
2. Click on INTERNET OPTIONS.
3. Select PROGRAMS Tab at top of page.
4. In the EMAIL box select your email program.
5. Click Ok
6. Goto PAGE
7. Job done!!

Hope this helps

556980 2007-06-08 05:47:00 Hi Burnzee, thanks for your reply. I did as you suggested - no luck.
The only things showing in internet options/programmes under the tools drop down is default web browser, manage add ons, html editing and internet programmes. Any further ideas, I've run out of them lol.
Cheers,
Tophook

Click above link, to see what Burnzee is talking about, under the Internet Programs heading.
This may be different in Vista, you may need a Vista expert :p

556982 2007-06-08 16:51:00 Hi

Thanks for that. Yes, it's exactly what I was trying to explain. However it appears you don't change the file associations that way for Vista.

Just done a bit of research and found THIS (content.techrepublic.com.com). It explains how to do it with Vista. Seems you gotta go to the Control Panel. Billy Boy calls that progress!! :waughh:

Anyway give it a go.

556983 2007-06-10 00:17:00 Thanks for all your help guys (or gals??!!). I tried what you suggested with minimal success, but however I did manage to resolve the problem as follows.
Control panel.
Default programmes.
Set program access and computer defaults.
MS Windows.

Problem solved!
It had been set up as custom defaults.

Once again, thanks for your help. Now, onto the next problem!!
Cheers,
